The areas of clinical law in which the society desires to work are those areas of law that particularly affect low-income individuals or disadvantaged communities, including legal matters related to the following: mediation and negotiation on housing and shelter, income maintenance, social assistance and other similar government programs; immigration law, human rights, health, work and disability, employment legal advice, representation and advocacy on these matters; test case representation on a poverty law issue if a case is found to be meritorious of such action; public legal education, production and translation of legal information, materials and workshops; independent legal advice, representation in court, duty ...[+++]counsel services, wills and powers of attorney, some contracts, some family law and child welfare law — I would like to note that many of these services are provided by the current legal aid civil program, but on a limited basis at this time; in family law, a third-party intervention service would be offered when a no-contact order, peace bond, emergency protection order or a civil restraining order prevents opposing parties from having direct contact when the court orders access to the children by the non-custodial parent — by that, I mean that a court may order that the non-custodial parent have access and to facilitate this and to avoid conflict, we would offer a third-party intervention, a place where the non-custodial parent could be with his or her children in a non-adversarial and non-threatening manner; an outreach component, including a 1-888 number to provide telephone-based legal assistance to low-income households across the Northwest Territories; a poverty law website of legal information in order to establish partnerships with isolated communities; and, very importantly, a community outreach advocate training program and policy that would be under the supervision of a lawyer.

4. The lawyer of this person in the issuing Member State shall have the right to carry out activities limited to what is needed to assist the lawyer in the executing Member State, with a view to the effective exercise of the person's rights in the executing Member State under that Council Framework Decision, in particular under its Articles 3 and 4.

French Law Nu90-1259 of 31.12.1990, amending Law Nu71-1130 of 31 December 1971, on reform of certain judicial and legal professions, which entered into force on 1 January 1992, amalgamated the professions of lawyer and of legal adviser by suppressing the profession of legal adviser. The 1990 Law also reserved legal advice for lawyers (with some exceptions for other professions).

3. Where an agent, adviser or lawyer is excluded from the proceedings, the proceedings shall be suspended for a period fixed by the President in order to allow the party concerned to appoint another agent, adviser or lawyer.
