[10] Directive 2008/68/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the inland transport of dangerous goods, referring to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterways (AND)

Over the past decade, total cargo traffic at European ports, including to third countries, has grown by over 20% and container traffic has more than doubled.

Directive 2008/68/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 September 2008 on the inland transport of dangerous goods (4) extended the application of the provisions of certain international agreements to cover national traffic in order to harmonise the conditions under which dangerous goods are transported by road, rail and inland waterways across the Union.

Where relevant, it shall provide information on the transport classification for each of the UN Model Regulations: European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) , Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID) , European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterways (ADN) , all three of which have been implemented by Directive 2008/68/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 September 2008 on the inland transport of dangerous goods , International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code (sea), and Technical ...[+++]Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (ICAO) (air).
