Sur la question des engins et dispositifs utilisés pour la récolte du corail rouge, les colégislateurs s'accordent sur le fait que l'utilisation des véhicules sous-marins télécommandés (ROV) pour l'observation et la prospection de corail rouge doit continuer d'être autorisée dans des zones sous juridiction de l'État membre pour autant que les ROV ne soient pas équipés de bras manipulateurs ou de tout autre dispositif permettant la découpe et la récolte du corail rouge.
On the issue of the gear and devices to be used for the harvesting of the red coral, the co-legislators agree that the use of the ROVs (Remotely Operated under-water Vehicles) for the purpose of observation and prospection of the red coral shall continue to be permitted in zones under the jurisdiction of the Members State provided that the ROV is not equipped with manipulator arms or any other allowing the cutting and harvesting of red coral.
