Believes that Agencies would benefit from shared administrative services in a similar way to the cooperation between the Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee; urges the IWG to consider the question of the geographic dispersal of the Agencies which adds significantly to their costs and makes cooperation difficult; believes that if the Agencies were grouped together in a small number of locations, they could share overheads and management costs, particularly regarding IT, personnel, and financia ...[+++]l administration;

Meetings of the Conciliation Committee and trilogues shall be held alternately at the premises of the European Parliament and of the Council, with a view to an equal sharing of facilities, including interpretation facilities.

46. Reiterates the importance of interinstitutional cooperation which, undoubtedly, can bring about benefits to the institutions involved; in this respect, considers that the joint administrative service of the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions is an effective and dynamic way of avoiding duplication, reducing costs and developing team spirit without reducing the quality and efficiency of the service provided; invites the two Committees to examine - by not later than July 2007 - this co-operation in the light of the co-sharing principle and with a view to taking the necessary measures to ensure that ...[+++] the needs of both institutions are met and that a more equitable governance of the joint service is guaranteed; recommends that an exercise relating to the evaluation of the functions and activities of the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions should be carried out by not later than the end of June 2007;

Considers that the creation of the joint service has been beneficial for both Committees; Considers this joint service as an effective and dynamic way of avoiding duplication, reducing costs and developing team spirit without reducing the quality and efficiency of the service provided; invites the two Committees to assess which other services could be shared in the same manner; expects both parties to submit a detailed joint report on this matter before the first reading of the 2007 budget, incorporating specific recommendation ...[+++]s;

Stresses the need to give a fresh boost to reorganising Commission external delegations by radically speeding up staff redeployment, cross-departmental redeployment to insufficiently staffed delegations and top-down redeployment from central administrative departments and by harmonising ratios, which currently vary very widely, of administrative staff covered by the Staff Regulations to local staff;
