3.1.5. Fork-lift trucks carrying one or more workers must be adapted or equipped to limit the risk of the fork-lift truck overturning, e. g.:

- by a structure ensuring that, if the fork-lift truck overturns, sufficient clearance remains between the ground and certain parts of the fork-lift truck for the workers carried, or

(3) Excluded are racing cars, non-traffic cars (e.g. snow and golf cars), motorcycles, trailers, agricultural and forestry tractors, caravans, special purpose lorries and vans (e.g. fire engines, mobile work-shops), dumpers, work trucks (e.g. fork lifts, travel carriers, platform trucks) and military vehicles.

As a result of the operation, Linde will consolidate its market position in the European materials handling equipment sector as a whole and with respect to fork lift trucks in particular, where its position as a market leader is improved.

A number of minimum requirements are laid down specifically for fork-lift trucks and self-propelled mobile equipment.

The machinery in question includes, inter alia, the following equipment: - industrial drilling rigs, compressors, etc.; - construction equipment including wheel loaders, bulldozers, crawler tractors, crawler loaders, truck-type loaders, off-highway trucks, hydraulic excavators, etc.; - agricultural equipment, rotary tillers; - forestry equipment; - self-propelled agricultural vehicles (except tractors); - material-handling equipment; - fork-lift trucks; - road-maintenance equipment (motor graders, road rollers, asphalt finishers); - snow-plough equipment; - ground-support equipment in airports; - mobile cranes.
