La Commission a évalué le règlement (CE) no 2347/2002 du Conseil et a constaté, en particulier, que le champ d'application était trop large du point de vue de la flotte concernée, que les instructions étaient insuffisantes en ce qui concerne le contrôle dans les ports désignés et les programmes d'échantillonnage et que la qualité des notifications des États membres relatives aux niveaux de l'effort de pêche était trop variable.
The Commission evaluated Council Regulation (EC) No 2347/2002 and found, in particular, that the scope of the fleet concerned was too large, that there was a lack of guidance on control in designated ports and on sampling programmes, and that the quality of Member States' reporting of effort levels was too variable.
