In regard to the constitutionality of implementing these provisions in the Criminal Code, the Ontario act that Senator Runciman mentions from time to time, Christopher's Law, has been challenged, and it was cleared in the Court of Appeal of Ontario and affirmed by the Supreme Court of Canada — not affirmed, but refused appeal.
