1. A statement dated 29 May 2004 of two organisations represented by Mr Pietrowicz (the Committee for the protection of the rights and religious freedoms of persons practising faith and the Association of Salesian Co-workers) in which a reference is made to his contestation (on behalf of these two organisations) of the Ostrzeszów District Prosecutor’s decision of 9 April 2004 to close the investigations into Mr Siwiec; Mr Siwiec himself was asked not to stand for election to the European Parliament; and those eligible to vote in the elections were called upon to act against the election of Mr Siwiec to Parliament.

During his stay in Madagascar, Mr Marín visited the international aircraft maintenance centre near the Antananarivo-Ivato airport, a project financed with EDF regional funds, and an EDF project for the social reintegration of young people at the Notre-Dame de Clairvaux Centre run by the Salesians of Don Bosco at Ivato.

The Salesian Fathers already have a residential secondary technical cllege which caters for 430 pupils, and a third building will not be added to the two existing ones.

- 1 900 000 ECU will be used to extend a residential technical college at Oswiecim, in the Cracow region where it is planned to develop an agricultural mechanisation programme The project will be entrusted to the Congregation of Salesian Fathers in Poland, whose educational activities include the building, equipping or setting-up of new agricultural colleges to complement the established system of technical education.
