Après la signature , en 2009, d’un prêt de 145 millions d’EUR (« EDP Repowering I ») qui faisait partie du programme d’investissements d’EDP dans des centrales hydroélectriques, nouvelles ou déjà construites, le présent prêt servira à financer le rééquipement de deux centrales hydroélectriques à accumulation par pompage, la centrale d’Alqueva sur le fleuve Guadiana, dans le sud-est du Portugal, et la centrale de Venda Nova sur le fleuve Cávado, dans le nord du Portugal.
Following on from a loan in the amount of EUR 145 million, signed in 2009 (EDP Repowering I), which formed part of EDP’s investment programme in new and existing hydropower plants, this loan will serve to finance the re-powering of two existing pumped storage hydropower plants: the Alqueva plant on the Guadiana River in the southeast of Portugal; and the Venda Nova plant on the Cávado River in the north of Portugal.
