On 7 March 2005, British Columbia introduced the Civil Forfeiture Act (12) The wording of this bill is similar to that of the Manitoba statute, with proof that a person participated in an unlawful activity being proof, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, that the interest in property that is the subject of the application is proceeds of unlawful activity.
