Notes with concern the interim Commission's report on the progress made by Romania under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism, especially in the light of Romania's capability to protect the financial interest of the Union; is concerned by the reports assessment that only limited progress has been achieved in the prevention and sanctioning of corruption related to public procurement; stresses the importance of the report's suggestion that the Government materialises the appointment of a new leadership for the prosecution and the National Anti-corr ...[+++]uption Agency (DNA); calls on the Commission to steadfastly and determinedly insist, as far as the Romanian Government is concerned, that the Commission's recommendations are complied with and clarified; expects, finally, a series of measures from the Commission, in cooperation with the Romanian government, aimed at improving the integrity of the Romanian legal system;

The Lithuanian NAO considers cooperation with the parliamentary Audit Committee as its top priority, and this focus was recognised by inviting a joint delegation from the NAO and Audit Committee to the Committee on Budgetary Control meeting in November 2006 along with a similar joint delegation from the UK NAO and Public Accounts Committee.

The State aid which the Federal Republic of Germany is planning to implement for the introduction of digital terrestrial television in North Rhine-Westphalia to commercial broadcasters on the DVB-T platform based on the directive on the financial support for DVB-T (Richtlinie der Landesanstalt für Medien Nordrhein-Westfalen über die Gewährung von Zuwendungen zur Förderung von digitalem terrestrischem Fernsehen als Maßnahme und Projekt für neuartige Rundfunksübertragungstechniken gem. § 88 Abs. 3 S. 5 und 6 LMG NRW) of 19 November 2004, notified to the Commission by letter of 13 January 2005 is incompatible with the common market.
