54 (1) Sur tout navire pour lequel la méthode I ou la méthode III de protection contre l’incendie a été adoptée, il sera installé un système d’alerte et de détection d’incendie, répondant aux prescriptions de l’article 57, qui découvrira la présence d’un incendie dans tout local habité ou local de service et en indiquera la présence et le lieu au moyen d’un signal donné en un ou plusieurs points de façon à attirer rapidement l’attention du capitaine et de l’équipage.
54 (1) In every ship in which Method I or Method III of fire protection has been adopted, a fire alarm and fire detection system complying with section 57 shall be installed which will detect the presence of fire in any accommodation space or service space and will indicate the presence and position of the fire by a signal given at one or more points in the ship so as to come rapidly to the notice of the master and crew of the ship.
