Front and centre were the Four Host First Nations, for it was on the traditional lands of the Squamish, Lil-wat, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations that these games were held, and in an unprecedented move, the chiefs of the Four Host First Nations were given head-of-state status by the International Olympic Committee.
