Se référant à sa déclaration en date du 26 octobre 2004 et en s'associant au message de l'Union africaine délivré le 1er novembre, l'Union européenne salue la décision des parties non-signataires de l'Accord de Pretoria sur le partage du pouvoir au Burundi d'accepter le projet de nouvelle Constitution, tel qu'adopté par le Parlement, comme base de discussion sur l'avenir politique de leur pays, évitant ainsi un vide institutionnel en attendant son adoption par référendum.
With reference to its Declaration of 26 October and associating itself with the African Union's message issued on 1 November 2004, the European Union welcomes the decision by the non-signatory parties to the Pretoria Agreement on power-sharing in Burundi to accept the new draft Constitution, as adopted by Parliament, as a basis for discussion on their country's political future, thereby avoiding an institutional vacuum pending the Constitution's adoption by referendum.
