Soucieux que ne se reproduisent plus les catastrophes maritimes tel le naufrage du pétrolier Erika, le Comité économique et social européen (CES) a adopté, lors de sa session plénière du mois d'octobre, un avis de M. Daniel Retureau, rapporteur, (Groupe des Travailleurs, France) et de Mme Anna Bredima-Savopoulou, corapporteuse, (Groupe des Employeurs, Grèce) sur trois projets législatifs au sujet de certains aspects majeurs de la sécurité maritime du transport de produits pétroliers et de la prévention des pollutions accidentelles qui peuvent en résulter.
In the interests of preventing the recurrence of maritime disasters such as the sinking of the oil tanker Erika, the European Economic and Social Committee (ESC) adopted an opinion at its plenary session in October on three legislative proposals addressing a number of major aspects of maritime safety relating to the transport of petroleum products and the prevention of accidental pollution which may occur as a result. The rapporteurs for the opinion were Mr Daniel Retureau (rapporteur, Workers' Group, France) and Ms Anna Bredima-Savopoulu (co-rapporteur, Employers' Group).
