– (NL) Monsieur le Président, je voudrais poser la question suivante à M. van der Stoep: si les vérifications aux frontières étaient rétablies, que dirait M. van der Stoep aux vacanciers néerlandais de retour d’un congé de quinze jours en France souhaitant franchir la frontière entre Anvers et Hazeldonk et qui se retrouvent, sur le chemin du retour, dans une queue d’un kilomètre, la même queue que celle que doivent supporter les camionneurs sur la route du port de Rotterdam pour décharger leur cargaison?
– (NL) Mr President, I would like to ask Mr van der Stoep the following question: if border checks were to be reintroduced, what would Mr van der Stoep say to the Dutch holidaymakers returning from a fortnight’s holiday in France who want to cross the border between Antwerp and Hazeldonk and who, on their way home, end up in a mile-long tailback, the same tailback as the lorry drivers on their way to the Port of Rotterdam to unload their cargo?
