It was agreed, - That the Sub-committee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade be granted a budget of $112,238 to travel to London, Dublin, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, and Geneva, from April 22 to May 5, 2001, for its study of Canada's economic relations with Europe.

Honourable members of the committee, our next meeting will be next week, on May 16, at which time we will hear from a minister from Dublin, Ireland, who would like to made a brief presentation on how his country deals with bilingualism.

In case Norway, Iceland, Switzerland or Liechtenstein do not accept an act amending or building upon the Dublin/Eurodac acquis, the "guillotine" clause is applied and the respective agreements will be terminated, unless the Joint/Mixed Committee established by the agreements decides otherwise by unanimity.

4. If Switzerland cannot implement the act or measure at issue on a provisional basis, and if this causes difficulties that disrupt the operation of Dublin/Eurodac cooperation, the situation shall be examined by the Mixed Committee.

A mixed committee consisting of representatives of Switzerland and EU countries is established to examine the implementation and practical application of the provisions of the Dublin/Eurodac acquis.

1. A meeting of Co-Presidents, Co-Vice-Presidents and Co-Rapporteurs of the three Working Committees of the Euro-Arab Dialogue took place in Lisbon on 20-21 April. 2. The purpose of the Lisbon meeting, the first meeting in the framework of the Dialogue since June 1990, was to bring together the office- holders of the Economic, Technical and Social and Cultural working committees to ensure that when the working committees begin their work they will be fully familiar with, and will fully reflect in their work, the reformed structures and reformed procedures of the Dialogue decided at the Ministerial meeting in Paris in December, 1989 and ...[+++]at the General Committee meeting in Dublin in June, 1990.
