Certains autres pays industrialisés, sans rejeter le Traité, ont toutefois souhaité, lors des négociations de l'Uruguay Round, des normes de protection plus sévères que celles prévues par le Traité de Washington. However, certain other industrialised countries, while not denouncing the Treaty in such forthright terms, have also argued within the TRIPs negotiations for higher standards of protection than are provided in the Treaty.
