The market for asset-backed and, most notably, mortgage-backed securities and consumer credit-backed securities will also benefit from the CPP fund as they bid up the prices of these asset-backed securities and encourage banks and other lending institutions to engage more actively in off-balance-sheet financing, originating credit at attractive yields, and then packaging and selling these assets in the marketplace.
