(2) Afin d'encourager la consommation de lait et de produits laitiers dans la Communauté et d'améliorer la compétitivité de ces produits sur les marchés internationaux, il y a lieu de réduire le niveau du soutien du marché, en particulier en réduisant progressivement, à partir du 1 er juillet 2005 , les prix indicatifs et les prix d'intervention du beurre et du lait écrémé en poudre, fixés par le règlement (CE) n° 1255/1999 du Conseil.
(2) To promote consumption of milk and milk products in the Community and improve their competitiveness on international markets, the level of market support should be diminished, specifically by gradual reduction from 1 July 2005 of the target price for milk and intervention prices for butter and skimmed milk powder set by Council Regulation (EC) No 1255/1999.
