Le projet de loi permet à l’inspecteur d’ordonner qu’un aliment, un engrais, un supplément, une semence, un animal ou une chose (« la chose ») importés soit retiré du Canada ou détruit si l’inspecteur a des motifs raisonnables de croire que la chose a été importée en violation de la LAB, la LE, la LS, la LSA ou la LPV, selon le cas - ou d’un règlement pris en application d’une de ces lois - ou si une exigence réglementaire pertinente à l’égard de la chose n’a pas été respectée.
Under Bill C-18, an inspector may order that an imported “thing” be removed from Canada or destroyed if the inspector has reasonable grounds to believe that the thing was imported in contravention of the Feeds Act, the Fertilizers Act, the Seeds Act, the Health of Animals Act or the Plant Protection Act, as the case may be - or regulations made under one of those Acts - or that a relevant regulatory requirement in respect of the thing has not been met.
