In Scotland, there are plans to improve the A71 between Irvine and Kilmarnock and to build a ferry link with Oban, Mull and Colonsay. In Wales, a sliproad will be built on the Cardiff ringroad, and in Northern Ireland, the powerstation at Kilroot, near Belfast, will be converted into a solid fuel/oil fired plant.
