The influx of Southeast Asian heroin into British Columbia around 1990 displaced heroin coming from other sources, so Vancouver and British Columbia heroin has been almost exclusively of the China white variety since that time, while Mexican or black tar heroin is no longer seen in Vancouver and B.C.
