Calls on EU Member States to work towards a strong EU common position on the follow-up to the Goldstone report on the conflict in Gaza and southern Israel, publicly demanding accountability for the alleged crimes and urging both sides to conduct investigations that would meet international standards of independence, impartiality, transparency, promptness and effectiveness, in line with UNGA Resolution A/64/L.11; considers that, while there can be no efficient Middle East peace process without accountability and justice, the investigations initiated so far by both sides fail to meet those requirements; calls on the EU to make the fo ...[+++]llow-up to the Goldstone report part of EU dialogues with both sides;

The Israeli authorities at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, recently subjected Dr Karim Hilal, a Greek national of Palestinian origin and holder of a Schengen enhanced security passport, to a humiliating interrogation and subsequently banned him, unjustifiably, from entering the country. Given that other Greek passport holders living in Palestine face similar problems, will the Commission say whether it is aware of the difficulties and abusive treatment encountered by European Union citizens on their arrival in or departure from Israel?

3. Where a Party recognises, unilaterally or by agreement, education, experience, licenses or certifications obtained in the territory of a third country, that Party shall afford the other Party an adequate opportunity to demonstrate that education, experience, licenses or certifications obtained in the other Party's territory should also be recognised or to conclude an agreement or arrangement of comparable effect.

Information developed jointly by the Parties shall be accurate to the best knowledge and belief of both Parties. Neither Party warrants the accuracy of the jointly developed information or its suitability for any particular use or application by either Party or by any third party.

Will the Commission indicate if it is aware of the existence of a crisis in Ireland for sheep farmers and that many farmers will be unable to remain in sheep production due to the fact that there is no profitability in sheep production, and will the Commission indicate if it has any proposals to address the critical situation facing Irish sheep farmers?

The Chairman shall bring such communication to the attention of the other parties and shall give them the opportunity of making their comments in writing or submitting any other documents they may consider relevant.
