Statutory auditors or audit firms shall also have a duty to report any information referred to in points (a) (b) or (c) of the first subparagraph of which they become aware in the course of carrying out the statutory audit of an undertaking having close links with the public-interest entity for which they are also carrying out the statutory audit.

The EU and its Member States have long been leading donors on transparency, and several of them have implemented the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) - an innovative transparency standard which enables the publication of comparable aid data from the various donors to allow for more accurate budgeting, accounting and auditing by developing countries.
