141. Recognises the work undertaken by the Commission for the creation of a European Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN); calls on the Commission to put forward a proposal for a European TIN, based on the outline for a European TIN in the Commission’s Action Plan on the fight against tax fraud and tax evasion of 2012 (action 22); recalls that TINs are considered to provide the best means of identifying taxpayers and urges, therefore, for this project to be accelerated; calls on the Commission, by the same toke ...[+++]n, to actively work for the creation of a similar identification number on a global level, such as the Regulatory Oversight Committee’s global Legal Entities Identifier (LEI);

In order to ensure the application of common technical requirements regarding the 112-based eCall in-vehicle system, the power to adopt acts in accordance with Article 290 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union should be delegated to the Commission in respect of the exemption of certain classes of vehicles of categories M and N from the obligation to install eCall in-vehicle systems, of the establishment of detailed technical requirements and tests for the EC type-approval of vehicles with regard to their eCall in-vehicle systems and the EC type-approval of systems, components and separate technical u ...[+++]nits designed and constructed for such vehicles, and of the establishment of detailed technical rules and test procedures for the application of certain rules on personal data processing and for ensuring that there is no exchange of personal data between the 112-based eCall in-vehicle system and third party systems.

An updated version of the model convention was released in 2007 at the first meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (Vienna, 30 April – 11 May 2007).

In this Resolution, the Parliament, amongst others, "suggests that the Commission should propose without delay to the Council (over and above the requirement for it to report every three years on Union citizenship pursuant to Article 22 of the EC Treaty) that common concepts and binding guidelines enabling common standards to be established in the field of consular protection be adopted; calls on the Commission to intensify its communication and information efforts, in particular by establishing a single European emergency telephone number for inclusion in the passports of Union citizens together with the ...[+++]text of Article 20 of the EC Treaty, enabling any Union citizen to be connected to a call centre which will provide him with comprehensive information in the event of a critical situation triggering the consular protection process in particular an up-to-date list of contact details for the Member States' embassies and consulates to which he is entitled to apply; the number could be administered on a central basis in Brussels; calls on the Commission to submit to it, once the Lisbon Treaty has been ratified, a proposal for amending Decision 95/553/EC, so that it expressly includes: diplomatic protection; the identification and repatriation of mortal remains; simplification of the procedures for advancing money".
