La proposition prévoit également des dispositions visant à permettre aux autorités des Etats membres de contrôler plus aisément le respect des règles fixées, y compris l'obligation pour les transporteurs d'établir un itinéraire approprié tenant compte de changements de trajets ou de retards éventuels, ainsi qu'un système simple d'inspection et d'enregistrement prévoyant la fixation d'une plaque à l'extérieur du compartiment réservé aux animaux de manière à permettre un contrôle aisé du respect des normes applicables aux moyens de transport et à la densité de chargement.
The proposal also introduces provisions which will make it easier for the authorities of the Member States to check that the rules are respected, including an obligation on transporters to draw up an appropriate itinerary, taking account of possible changes to their route plan or delays which may occur, together with a simple inspection and registration system involving a plate fixed to the exterior of the animal compartment allowing an easy check of compliance with the vehicle standards and space allowances.
