In my undergraduate medical studies at the University of Toronto, I was fortunate, along with other medical students, to attend the lectures of Dr. Norman Delarue, a thoracic surgeon at the Toronto General Hospital, a pioneer in the unpopular work of exposing causal relationships between tobacco smoking and broncogenic carcinoma.
