One border post was completed at Leushen in Moldova in 2001; four border crossings were completed in 2002, Salla and Svetogorsk on the Finnish/Russian, the border post in Chop on the Hungarian/Ukrainian border, and the post at Kameny Log on the Belarus/Lithuanian border; and one bridge, the Jagodin over the Bug River between Ukraine and Poland with its access road was also completed in 2002.

Construction of a new border post at Bagrationovsk between Kaliningrad and Poland started in June 2002 and will be completed in early 2003.
