En constituant leur association le 5 juillet 2013, les membres fondateurs ont déclaré établir entre eux une association internationale sans but lucratif dénommée « Association européenne des investisseurs de long terme (AEILT) », régie par les dispositions de la loi belge du 27 juin 1921 sur les associations sans but lucratif, les associations internationales sans but lucratif et les fondations.
When establishing the Association on July 5, the founding members declared “(.) establishing among themselves an international non-profit association named “European Association of Long Term Investors (ELTI)”, in accordance with the Belgian Law of the twenty-seventh day of June nineteen twenty-one on non-profit associations, international non-profit associations and foundations.
