Selon les statistiques que la fédération a obtenues à la suite d'un inventaire d'arbres réalisé par l'Institut des statistiques du Québec et rendu disponible le 1 décembre 1998, nous avons plus de 3 106 hectares de pommiers de type standard, c'est-à-dire 38 p. 100 de nos superficies au Québec, en plus d'un certain pourcentage de pommiers de types nain et semi-nain qui ont été plantés à la suite du gel de 1981 et qui devront être rénovés d'ici peu.
