Si tel est le cas, pourrait-elle justifier une telle position, en se rappelant que les AJR ont été instaurés il y a plus de cinquante ans en tant que directives minimales (par opposition aux valeurs optimales), qu’un certain nombre d’études scientifiques ayant démontré que la prise de simples substances nutritives respectant un niveau de sécurité se situant loin au-delà de l’AJR est bénéfique pour la santé et qu’une proposition reposant sur le principe de l’utilité nutritionnelle limiterait gravement le choix du consommateur et augmenterait sensiblement le coût de tels produits ?
If this is the case, would it provide a justification for such a stance, bearing in mind that the RDAs were established over 50 years ago as minimum (as opposed to optimum) guidelines, the number of scientific studies showing how simple nutrients at safe levels far above the RDA are beneficial to health, that a proposal based on the principle of nutritional need would severely limit consumer choice and that such a proposal would considerably increase the costs of such products?
