4. When leaving or returning to the customs territory of the Union through a point of crossing of the external border of a Member State other than that of their residence, for the temporary export of one or more firearms during a journey to a third country, hunters and sport shooters using the simplified procedure must produce as a single document a valid European firearms pass issued pursuant to Articles 1 and 12 of Directive 91/477/EEC by the competent authority of the Member State of their residence.
