Since 2007, the EU has allocated around 2.5 billion EUR for water and sanitation actions in more than 60 partner countries[20]. Much EU action in the field of water and sanitation consists of developing infrastructures such as water and sewerage networks, potable water and waste-water treatment plants, rural water supply in scattered areas and rural sanitation.
Seit 2007 hat die EU rund 2,5 Mrd. EUR für Wasserversorgungs- und Abwasserentsorgungsmaßnahmen in mehr als 60 Ländern bereitgestellt.[20] Viele Maßnahmen der Europäischen Union in diesem Bereich bestehen in der Errichtung von Infrastruktur wie Wasserversorgungs- und Kanalisationsnetzen, Trinkwasseraufbereitungs- und Kläranlagen, Wasserversorgung in entlegenen Gebieten und Abwasserentsorgung im ländlichen Raum.
