- vallen in klasse IIb, indien ze bestemd zijn voor langdurig gebruik, behalve indien ze worden gebruikt in de mondholte tot aan de farynx, in het oorkanaal tot aan het trommelvlies of in een neusholte en indien de kans klein is dat ze door het slijmvlies worden geabsorbeerd. In deze gevallen behoren ze tot klasse IIa.
