In its decision of July 1995, the Commission approved a first aid plan totalling an estimated 45 billion francs to Crédit Lyonnais, relating to the taking on of the losses of Crédit Lyonnais on the bad assets of the bank transferred to the Consortium of Réalisations (CDR), and to a recapitalisation of 4.9 billion francs in 1994.
