At the operational level, the NFIP of the other country (countries) is requested to supply information regarding the movements of normal and risk supporters, the participating team and its accompanying party (where there is a threat), ticket sales and possible requests for the participation of police officers such as spotters, and of supporter coachers, together with any other relevant information.

Remember the spectacle made of the British plane spotters in Greece.

Despite the storm of protest this unleashed among Dutch and British politicians and citizens, the European Arrest Warrant was adopted by the same politicians in the same month of December, as a result of which, from then on, all the plane spotters had to be extradited to Greece.

This is exemplified by the British and Dutch plane spotters who, as you will remember, were arrested in Greece some years ago.

I would be grateful if you could write again, and also use your good offices in relation to the plane spotters.

– (NL) Madam President, I should like to endorse Mrs Lynne’s point of order, but I should like to ask you to re-establish contact, and I should also like to call on my fellow Greek MEPs to ensure that these spotters, who have now spent nearly five weeks in a Greek prison for indulging in their pastime, can be brought to court before next Friday, because procedures will otherwise be delayed by a three-week break and these young men, these spotters who were enjoying their pastime, would then be locked up seven or eight weeks without being brought before the law.
