We are said to be essentially the Canadian equivalent of the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Consumer Products Safety Commission, because our activities cover all of those areas, and operationally, we're organized into four program directorates that essentially correspond to the activities of each of those U.S. agencies.
