– (EL) Mr President, Mr President-in-Office of the Council, I would not describe the response as being schizophrenic in nature, I would just like to know, as we all would, whether the strengthening of relations between the European Union and Turkey is a high priority for the Council, and whether it is such a high priority that those conditions set by the Council to ensure this strengthening of relations are actually being brushed aside.
- (EL) Monsieur le Président, Monsieur le Président en exercice du Conseil, je ne qualifierai pas de schizophrène la réponse, je me bornerai à constater, comme peut le faire tout un chacun, que le renforcement des liens Union-européenne-Turquie est une question de haute priorité pour le Conseil, si haute que celui-ci a mis de côté les critères qu'il avait lui-même fixés pour que ce renforcement des liens soit possible.
