Notes that the ECB and its Executive Board are independent; stresses the necessity of respecting the constitutional principle set out in Article 112(2)(b) of the Treaty; reiterates its support for the independence of the ECB and for sustaining the aim of maintaining price stability and protecting its anti-inflation credentials;
