This programme will offer the opportunity to strengthen action for conserving the African elephant while an integrated action plan is being worked on by the African States and the main conservation agencies, namely WWF, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Wildlife Conservation International (WCI), and by the Commission, with the contribution of the CITES Secretariat.
Ce programme permettra de renforcer les mesures de protection de l'éléphant d'Afrique, tandis que les Etats africains et les principales organisations de défense de l'environnement et de la faune, à savoir le Fonds mondial pour la nature (WWF), l'Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature et de ses ressources (UICN), Wildlife Conservation International (WCI) et la Commission des CE, travaillent actuelllement à un plan d'action intégré avec la participation du secrétariat de la CITES.
