Firstly although the largest terrorist attacks in the last year have taken place in New York and Bali, it would be interesting to consider what Europe’s response would have been if the original attack that drew our attention to the scale of terrorism, that of 11 September 2001, had taken place in Europe; if the aeroplanes, instead of flying into the twin towers in New York, had flown into the Eiffel Tower, the buildings of the European Parliament or any other major European building.
Tout d'abord, bien que les attentats terroristes les plus importants de l’année écoulée aient eu lieu à New York et à Bali, il serait intéressant de se livrer à une réflexion sur quelle aurait été la réponse de l’Europe si le premier attentat qui a attiré l’attention sur l’importance du terrorisme, l’attentat du 11 septembre 2001, avait été perpétré en Europe ; si, au lieu de frapper les tours de New York, les avions s’étaient abattus sur la Tour Eiffel, les bâtiments du Parlement européen ou tout autre bâtiment européen important.
