However, when they realized that they have lost their language, that many of them do not know their culture or history, many of them have been raised in a dysfunctional family and community environment, and many of them, in fact, have grown up with an inferior sense of themselves and a lack of self-respect, they have come to realize, I think, through the public education processes that we have engaged in, that there is in fact a healing process that they also have to go through.
