However, should a bill be passed to set fixed dates for an election campaign and something very important were to come up, for instance, in the event of a war, a constitutional question, or if a government were to propose an essential referendum to Parliament, I have no doubt that in such circumstances, we could do away with the normal election schedule, if it were a matter of national importance.
