In the face of the challenges posed by European integration, globalisation, Europe's new position in the world and enlargement, as well as the demographic and employment situations and the increased speed of innovation and technical change, industrial relations, which in the past have contributed to maintaining a balance and to the success of the European model, will have to be modernised and adapted apace.
Face aux enjeux liés à l'intégration européenne, à la mondialisation, à la nouvelle place de l'Europe dans le monde, à l'élargissement mais aussi, à la démographie, à l'emploi et à l'accélération de l'innovation et du changement technique, les relations industrielles qui ont constitué dans le passé un facteur d'équilibre et de succès du modèle européen, sont appelées à se moderniser et à s'adapter à un rythme soutenu.
