Welcomes the progress made as regards the Sarajevo process, and the active involvement of Serbia in advancing it; welcomes the outcome of the international donors’ conference held in Sarajevo in April 2012, at which Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia agreed on a join Regional Housing Programme; strongly supports this programme, and encourages cooperation between the countries in finding solutions for refug ...[+++]ees and displaced persons in the region; calls on all parties to implement the programme with no undue delay;

Welcomes recent initiatives and investments in industrial and research policy; in this context, welcomes the establishment of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and the recent investment in Galileo as efficient means for combining technology innovation needs with industry's research agenda; endorses the European Global Navigation Satellite System programmes (Galileo and the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) as key EU projects; underlines the economic and public merits of these programmes and the benefits of new services and markets that they provide;

The existing programmes in these areas will all end in 2006 and, in the light of the above-mentioned Communication as well as the results of public consultations and recent evaluation reports, the Commission will later this year adopt legislative proposals for a new generation of programmes for these areas for the next programming period (except for Civic Participation, which will be tabled in early 2005 on the basis of an initial appraisal of the new programme in this area launched in 2004 and of the outcome of the European constitut ...[+++]ional debate).

The 2002 eSafety [40] initiative complements the European Road Safety Programme by aiming to accelerate the development, deployment and use of safety systems using advanced information and communication technologies to reduce the number of road deaths.
