With the amendments I am proposing to the bill, proposed paragraph 50.1(2)(a) makes it a simple straightforward offence if a vertically integrated retailer charges a retail price less than the price charged the non-affiliated purchaser at the wholesale level, i.e., at the refinery gate in the case of the oil industry.
Avec les amendements que je propose, le projet d'alinéa 50.1(2)a) érige en infraction le fait pour un détaillant verticalement intégré de pratiquer un prix de détail inférieur au prix de gros consenti à un acheteur non affilié, c'est-à-dire à la porte de la raffinerie dans le cas de l'industrie pétrolière.
