Taking into account the special responsibility of the Commission for the implementation of Union policies enshrined by the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, the Commission should provide policy guidance to the Agency in the performance of its tasks while fully respecting the legal status of the Agency and the independence of its Executive Director as established by Regulation (EC) No 1406/2002.
Étant donné qu'il incombe spécialement à la Commission de mettre en œuvre les politiques de l'Union inscrites dans le traité sur le fonctionnement de l'Union européenne, la Commission devrait fournir à l'Agence les orientations stratégiques pour l'exécution de ses tâches, en respectant pleinement le statut juridique de l'Agence et l'indépendance de son directeur exécutif, comme prévu par le règlement (CE) no 1406/2002.
