There are two main beasts that give us some challenges: One is Septoria stem canker, which with a single infection can weaken the stem, leading to breakage from wind throw; and the other is Melampsora leaf rust, which can basically defoliate the leaves, leaving no photosynthetic surface area and nothing to allow the tree to grow.
Il y a deux principaux monstres qui nous posent quelques défis : le premier, c'est le chancre septorien, dont une seule infection peut affaiblir la tige et la rendre cassante, et l'autre est la Melampsora, ou rouille des feuilles, qui peut défolier les arbres en ne laissant plus de surface photosynthétique et plus rien qui permette leur croissance.
