The European Union is heartened by the efforts of the UN to forewarn and forearm the world against future genocide and supports the UN Secretary General's proposals, first made in connection with the Stockholm International Forum on Preventing Genocide, for a stronger UN role in the effective prevention of genocide.
L'Union européenne juge encourageants les efforts déployés par l'ONU pour mettre le monde à l'abri de nouveaux génocides et elle souscrit aux propositions du Secrétaire général des Nations Unies en faveur d'un rôle renforcé de cette organisation dans la prévention effective des génocides, propositions qui ont été initialement formulées à l'occasion du Forum international de Stockholm sur la prévention des génocides.
